What is Worm Tea?
Worm Tea is vermicomposting where earthworm castings have been brewed in the optimal environment to create a living fertilizer filled with microorganisms. Worm Tea is a completely naturally developed fertilizer that uses microbes to provide the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in forms most readily available to the plants based on the needs of the plants. This fertilizer focuses on the biology rather than the chemistry and can be applied year-round regardless of rain. Due to being a natural fertilizer, Worm Tea cannot be over applied.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information states, “soils with low organic matter and microbial activity are conducive to plant root diseases.” The microorganisms in Worm Tea effectively increase the microbial activity in soils. They also increase soil biodiversity by promoting beneficial microbes and controlling pests, which enhance production of plant growth-regulating hormones and enzymes. Basically, the microbes increase soil fertility, enhance plant growth, and suppress pests to minimize yield loss in the pasture.
Lastly, while Worm Tea fertilizer is advantageous to production the first year it is applied, the lasting benefits compound savings. Due to chemical fertilizers reducing and eventually eliminating soil microbes, more fertilizer and more pesticides need to be applied each successive year. Worm Tea builds soil microbes and actually increases earth worm activity in a field, so each year will require fewer and fewer inputs to maintain productivity. The results will not be as immediate as chemical fertilizer but, with proper management, the Worm Tea will far surpass any other fertilizer on the market.
You can fertilize for today, build for tomorrow, and save on the cost of applying synthetic fertilizers and pesticides by substituting organic Worm Tea.

Application Rate
Residential Application Rate
1 gal - 4300 sqft
5 gal - .5 acres
10 gal - 1 acre
Agricultural Rate
100 gal - 10 acres
250 gal - 25 acres
500 gal - 50 acres
When applying worm tea for residential applications, mix 1 gallon of water for every gallon of worm tea for direct spray. For example; if you are applying 1 gallons of worm tea, mix it with 1 gallons of water then apply the total of 2 gallons of liquid to a 4300 sqft yard. If you are using a hose end sprayer, pour the undiluted concentrate into the bottle and ensure you do not cover more than 4300 sqft per gallon.
When applying worm tea for agricultural applications, mix 2 gallons of water for every gallon of worm tea. For example; if you are applying 500 gallons of worm tea, mix it with 1000 gallons of water then apply the total of 1,500 gallons of liquid to a 50 acre paddock.
